How to Manage Your Devices

This section shows how to add an App device or a USSD device

Add API App

To add an API app, do the following:

  • Go to the Devices menu (green arrow)

  • Click the Add Device button (red arrow)

 
  • The Add Device form loads into view

  • Enter the name of the device

  • Select API App from the Device type dropdown menu. Notice that the form is updated after selecting the type of device, there are now additional fields to fill. (as indicated in the screenshot below:

 
  • Enter the username (use as your appReference) and secret

  • Select the Environment; test or live

  • Choose a branch from the branch dropdown

  • Check the collections you want to map this device to

  • Enter your domain or merchant URL to be associated with the device

  • Enter the callback URL for this device

  • Enable the device and click Save

 

Add USSD POS Device

Follow the steps as indicated in section 4.1 until you select the Device type.

  • In the Device Type dropdown, select USSD POS

  • The USSD POS form will load as show in the screenshot below

 
  • Enter the Mobile number for the USSD POS device

  • Enter the PIN number associated with the POS device

  • Select the the branch 

  • Check the collection to be mapped to the device

  • Enable the device and click Save

 

 

Add mPOS POS Device

Follow the steps as indicated in section 4.1 until you select the Device type.

  • In the Device Type dropdown, select Mobile POS

  • The Mobile POS form will load as show in the screenshot below

  • Enter the Mobile number for the USSD POS device

  • Enter the PIN number associated with the POS device

  • Select the the branch 

  • Check the collection to be mapped to the device

  • Select a default service/collection

  • Enable the device and click Save

 

Device Search

To search for a device, do the following:

While logged into your Billbox account, go to the Devices menu.

  • In the search bar at the right of the Devices page, you can search with:

    • Name of devices

  • A list of devices that match the search key will be listed.

  • Look through the list for the desired device

 

Enable/Disable a Device

To disable a device, do the following:

  • Go to the Devices menu

  • Search for the device to be disabled or enabled

  • In the actions column click on the disable/enable icon (as shown in the screenshot below)

  • Confirm the action to disable or enable by clicking OK in the popup dialog box

 

Delete Device

To delete an existing device, do the following:

While logged into your Billbox account, go to the Devices menu

  • Search for the device to be deleted

  • Click the Bin icon in the Actions tab (as shown in the screenshot below)

 
  • Next, confirm you want to delete the device by clicking OK in the popup dialogue box.

 

 

Filter by Device Type

You can filter by API app, USSD POS or choose ALL to display all device types.

To filter your devices by the device type, do the following:

  • On the Devices page, click the Filter by Device Type field (as indicated in the screenshot below)

  • Select Api App, USSD or ALL

  • View the filtered list in the table

 

Filter by Branch

You can filter by the branches on the account or choose ALL to display all device types.

To filter your devices by the device type, do the following:

  • On the Devices page, click the Filter by Branch field (as indicated in the screenshot below)

  • Select a branch from the list or ALL to list all devices

  • View the filtered list in the table
